cos

cos (angle)

The cos function returns the cosine of angle which is in radians.

In complex expressions, angle is complex, and cos(angle) returns a complex value:

$$\displaystyle \cos (x+i y)=\cos (x) \cosh (y)-i \sin (x) \sinh (y) .$$
